HERO E&C Founder and CEO Dr. Seoyoung Kim attended the KOOM Startup Festival 2025, held October 16–18 at Duggal Greenhouse in New York.
KOOM brought together an energetic mix of startup founders, technology executives, investors, business leaders, and leaders from Korea’s entertainment and cultural industries.
For HERO E&C, the experience was about more than attending a conference.
It was an opportunity to step outside the traditional civil engineering environment, exchange ideas with entrepreneurs and professionals across technology and finance, and observe how rapidly new companies are being built, funded, and scaled.
One message stood out:
The world of business is already changing — and engineering will change with it.
The experience reinforced HERO E&C’s vision of building a new kind of engineering company — combining deep civil and water resources expertise with technology, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and a global network.
HERO E&C continues to explore how these ideas can reshape the future of civil engineering, beginning in Texas.
